I started my own bookkeeping and accounting company at the beginning of 2008. I have had a few clients over the past year and half. I have also picked up and lost clients in that same period of time. What I have discovered is that either no one needs me, or everyone needs me. I tell clients that I am always available for them. I have always been able to live up to this, because I have not had a heavy work load, and clients rarely call me outside of little questions here and there.

Recently, I have had several people call on me at one time.  I believe that I can handle this, once I sit down and work out my schedule. I plan on doing a fantastic job so that I not only retain the clients I have, but also pick up some new clients along the way.

YAY! Brian has gotten my site up and running!! (He is the wonderfully ultimate supreme head of our family, so how could he not have gotten my page up and running in such a speedy amount of time?)

Please visit my business site at http://www.stanaland.org/valerie and also you can access the same site from http://valerie.stanaland.org.

I went for my first interview in months this afternoon. I was a little anxious about it, but I think that it went well. (Aside from the fact that I had a very onion filled lunch and forgot to gargle with a little mouthwash before leaving!)

I hope that this is the kickoff job for my accounting career. I hope to have at least five clients before the end of March, and from there I can get the experience that I will need to take my CPA at the end of my Bachelor’s degree.

This time next year I plan on having my very own accounting business running out of the house and this will be my busy time tax wise. Keep me in mind!! (And watch for my business website to get off the ground in the next few weeks… http://valerie.stanaland.org )
